TAMPA, Fla., May 24, 2021 – For the better part of five decades, the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center (more commonly known as BSAC) has been one of the region’s most trusted names in water safety, athletics, afterschool, and special education programs. This June, that proud past will turn toward an even brighter future as BSAC officially becomes High 5, Inc., a change will redefine not just what it is known by, but what it is known for in the community. As a 501C3 non-profit, High 5, Inc. will continue to play familiar roles in critical areas like water safety and youth drowning prevention, but CEO Chuck Burgess says there are some big plans in the works to dramatically expand what the organization does both within and far beyond its home base in Brandon. “In the coming months, we will be renewing our focus on making the best things we do even better, especially in terms of making positive impacts in the lives of others,” explained Chuck Burgess. “As High 5, whether the cause is large, small, or anywhere in between, we’ll be putting our hands together with our members, civic leaders, and business partners to make it happen.” A “High 5” to all who have supported BSAC over the years and an “Open Invitation” to see us first-hand! The High 5 “Grand Opening” celebration will be held on Friday, June 4th from 10am to Noon, starting with brief comments from senior leadership team members, community leaders and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. “We hope to see a tremendous ‘show of hands’ on June 4th and cordially welcome everyone in the community and beyond to join us for a special day more than 50 years in the making,” Burgess said. “Since our founding in 1963, we have earned our place in the community through our consistent pursuit of growth, new partnerships, and quality outcomes at every touchpoint.” “That alone is worth a High 5,” he chirped. “For the community. For the win!” The High 5, Inc. (formerly BSAC) campus is located at 405 Beverly Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511.
